Labourers Required
(Summer Season & possible Short Term Winter Assignments)
Position description as follows:
Perform general labourer duties such as maintains sidewalks, streets, public grounds,
loads and unloads trucks, cuts grass and weeds, spoon cleans catchbasins, dig trenches,
assists pump operators, assist with traffic control, gardening, pick up litter, rake leaves
and cleans up work sites. Work with cement, removes broken areas of asphalt or
concrete, fills breaks and pot holes with asphalt mix using shovel, rake and tamping iron.
DZ License is required for hauling in single, tandem and tri-axle trucks. Also, for winter
assignments you will be required to snow plow, sand and salt.
Works outdoors. 40 hours per week. Weekends and shift work may be required.
The hourly rate for this position is $22.61.
Minimum qualifications:








Grade 12 or equivalent
Valid DZ Driver’s License and original Driver’s Abstract required
Acceptable Police Criminal check required
Related work experience
Knowledge of safe work procedures
Good physical condition
Willingness to learn and the ability to deal tactfully with the public
Testing may be required
Preferred qualifications:


Current First Aid and CPR
