Inaugurated in 1873 with a performance by the most famous soprano in
Mexico at the time, Angela Peralta, the theater is located downtown in
the historic district. This theater is a meeting point for locals and visitors
alike. The theater is ideal for corporate presentations and events.

Inaugurated in 1999 and recently remodeled, the Santa Ana Theater

LOS ALDAMA MOVIE THEATER

237 years ago, this enormous house witnessed the birth of the heroes
of Mexican Independence. Ignacio and Juan Aldama, who lived their
early years in the house, and spawned their first ideas about an
independent Mexico with their friend Capitan Ignacio Allende. The
Aldama Movie Theater operated for close to 30 years, projecting Mexican and
Western movies. Completely renovated and outfitted to
modern standards, the theater hosts important festivals, meetings and
conferences.

TROLLEY TOUR

CALLEJONEADAS (STREET PROCESSIONS)

procession known as the Callejonada. Acompanied by a local
Mexican band (Mariachi) your group will walk through the most
beautiful and picturesque streets and alleys of the Historic
Downtown of San Miguel. The group will make stops in the famous
Lavaderos (washing site), where they can dance with friends to live
music and drink wine, tequila or mescal in the traditional ceramic
cups. For a special touch, include 2 mojigangas (enormous
paper- maché dolls) and a sweetly adorned tequila donkey. Big fun

CASA DEL MAYORAZGO DE LA CANAL
The Canal family palace is listed as the most important civil architectural
monument in San Miguel de Allende. The estate is also one of the most
intact and complete exhibitions of colonial art in the entire country. It is part
of the Senior Houses of Banamex project, and offers its visitors a cybercafé
equipped with video, a bookstore/library, and magnificent pieces of art.
MUSEUM: ALLENDE’S HOUSE
A majestic Baroque building made of stone and forged iron. The
house was the home of Ignacio Allende and Unzaga, the principal
leader in the war for Mexican independence. Today the home acts as
a history museum for the city of San Miguel de Allende. The museum
exhibits an interesting glimpse into the spaces of the home (living
rooms, bedrooms, auditorium, kitchen, and stable). The home is a
good example of how a creole family lived in the beginning of the
19th century.
CIVIC PLAZA AND THE SOLITUDE PLAZA
Both the Civic and Solitude plazas are united by a large staircase
and make up an animated pedestrian walkway. Decorated with
beautiful fountains and statues, it’s a location for a wide variety of
artistic and cultural fairs all year long. The plaza hosts the St Phillip
Neri Auditorium, along with 3 temples where the famous movie
El Padrecito with Mario Moreno Cantinflas was filmed.
PARROQUIA OF SAINT MICHAEL ARCANGEL
This cathedral is the emblem of the city of San Miguel de Allende.
The original building was modest, passing through several stages until
1880 when a master construction worker felt inspired by an Old
German image of the Cathedral of Köln. The builder of the actual
tower and dramatic façade of this gothic construction, achieves one
of the most impressive and recognized architectural feats in the
world.
IGNACIO RAMÍREZ CULTURAL CENTER
“THE NECROMANCER”
Originally the former cloister of the Convent of the Immaculate
Conception, today it’s a cultural center known as Bellas Artes (the
Beautiful Arts). The center offers expositions of painting, drawing,
sculpture, photography, musical concerts, dance and is famous for its
enormous murals celebrating Mexican painter David Alfaro Siqueiros.
The majestic building has an auditorium, 2 art galleries, a café and
bookstore. Its beautiful courtyard is a romantic setting for a
photograph session with employees and clients.
SAN FRANCISCO CONVENT AND TEMPLE
The temple, chapel of the 3rd Order, and Convent were built
together. The façade of the building gives the small San Francisco
plaza an extraordinary air with its neo-classical tower and detailed
Baroque-style stone work. Inside, you can admire the paintings that
highlight the death of St. Francis and St. Gabriel.

TEMPLE OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION
The celebrated Convent of the Immaculate Conception was founded
in 1765 by María Josefa Lina de La Canal de Hervás, a member one
of the most distinguished families of the time. The temple’s
impressive Copula was built by renowned master builder, Zeferino
Gutiérrez, inspired by the famous Invalid’s Church in Paris. Inside, you
can admire collections of images by Juan Rodríguez Juárez and Miguel
Cabrera, both well-known masters of the time.
ARTISAN’S MARKET
Designed and constructed over a pedestrian walkway that crosses
two typical San Miguel streets, this walking market offers all types of
artisanal craft in the region: tin, wool, carved quarry stone and
mesquite wood, furniture, paper maché, glass, metalwork, ceramics
and jewelry. Your group can shop and admire the Artisans at work,
painting and designing.
WALKWAY OF THE SPOUT
The Walkway of the Spout is constructed around one of the curviest
streets of San Miguel de Allende. Close to one of the areas only
natural springs, the walkway passes by the Culture House and goes
down by the famous public washing area. The stroll ends in a beautiful small plaza. A perfect spot for you and your co-workers to enjoy
San Miguel.
THE LOOKOUT

CAÑADA DE LA VIRGEN ARCHAEOLOGICAL ZONE
This ancient ceremonial center in Mexico reached its height during
the years between 540 to 1050 A.D. The local people venerated

the sun, and Venus. The site is known by its architectural structures:
The house of the 13 skies, House of the Longest Night, and House
of the Wind, all of which have many secrets to be discovered about
