PROVEN LEADERSHIP
The Presidents’ Council held its annual Winter Retreat in February, where we discussed the organization and its future.
Our members and their businesses continue to take prominent leadership roles in local, regional, and national business and
community positions.

EMERGING ENTREPRENEURS
The Emerging Entrepreneurs Program continues to help create the next generation of successful minority business owners
in Northeast Ohio. Since the program’s inception in 2001, 85 Emerging Entrepreneurs have graduated from the program. This
summer we graduated 10 more entrepreneurs, who spent a year in Baldwin-Wallace College classrooms learning the skills
and making the connections to make their businesses flourish. These aggressive entrepreneurs leave our program as
stronger business owners with better business strategies and new relationships with each other, Foundation trustees, The

opportunities to the strength of the curriculum, our Emerging Entrepreneurs have been building better businesses from
their experiences in the program. The ultimate goal with our Emerging Entrepreneurs is that they will grow their
enterprises to size and scale and ultimately join The Presidents’ Council.

Our initial class of 16 students from 2008 remains committed to excellence, and we are proud to say that they are on track to graduate and
move on to college after completing their senior year. We hope to see them back eventually so that they can mentor future PC Scholars classes.
This fall, after carefully evaluating scores of applications, we selected and welcomed our third and largest class yet with 23 new sophomores.
As in past years, our incoming class represents a broad spectrum of CMSD schools and showcases students with diverse interests,
backgrounds, and goals.
With the success and continued growth of the PC Scholars Program, the support of our colleagues in the business world only increases in
