Sea Turtle Conservancy is excited to announce our 9th annual Tour de Turtles, a sea turtle
migration marathon! Tour de Turtles is a popular educational journey that utilizes satellite
tracked sea turtles to raise awareness of the threats sea turtles encounter and encourage
stewardship for their protection.
Since the launch of Tour de Turtles, Sea Turtle Conservancy has partnered with people and
businesses like yours worldwide. Each year Sea Turtle Conservancy releases sea turtles outfitted
with satellite transmitters throughout the Caribbean and Archie Carr National Wildlife Refuge.
The Refuge, located on Florida’s east coast, is the most important nesting beach for endangered
green sea turtles in North America and for threatened loggerhead sea turtles globally. These
turtles have provided invaluable scientific data on their migratory routes and foraging grounds,
and have become ambassadors creating an international connection to their survival and the need
for us to protect them and their habitats. Tour de Turtles sea turtle release events followed by an
online educational exploration has reached millions of sea turtle conservation enthusiasts over
the years.
We invite you to be a part of making 2016’s Tour de Turtles the best yet! Sea Turtle
Conservancy is seeking sponsorships and donations to support the kick off social and silent
auction and sea turtle release scheduled the weekend of July 30th and 31st at the Barrier Island
Sanctuary Management and Education Center in the Archie Carr Refuge, south Melbourne
Beach. Details on the sponsor benefits are included for your review. You may also like to
donate to our silent auction. Contributions are tax-deductible.
