Maths
Measure: Weight
For this weeks Maths challenge we would like you to take a look through your kitchen cupboards (with your
parents permission/ help) and find three to five items that show the weight in grams on the packet/ box etc.
For example you could choose a box of cereal that weighs 500g, teabags at 125g and a packet of biscuits at
250g. Write down your items and their weights in order from lightest to heaviest.
Extra challenge: Chocolate Crispie Cakes
Try this simple recipe below and remember to ask an adult to supervise
You will need:
100g Milk chocolate
40g Crisp rice cereal
Sprinkle decorations
8-10 paper cases
Method:
1. Carefully weigh out your ingredients using kitchen scales
2. Melt the chocolate according to the instructions on the pack (take care!)
Or: put the chocolate into a bowl and heat in a pan of water whilst stirring.
3. In a large bowl add the melted chocolate to the cereal and mix until well coated.
4. Spoon the mixture into your paper cases and decorate with sprinkles
5. Pop them in the fridge until set
6. Enjoy!
