This can save thousands of dollars. We regularly test and recommend hazard classifications for explosive components. This allows rapid receipt of an EX letter for shipping. Under DOT, we can issue tentative shipping classifications (similar to IHCs) for testing. For DOD, we can help with IHC applications. We work with test ranges to ensure products are tested correctly and that the required data will be obtained. We develop tailored test plans and test reports for worry-free approval by HC and IM boards. We support HCs for updates to products that may not need to be retested. We can recommend a HC for products used for commercial purposes or Foreign Military Sales (FMS). As a DOT-approved explosive examining agency, APT is partnered with several test sites to ensure a broad base of testing capabilities, including: Redstone Test Center (RTC), Huntsville, AL Eglin AFB, Valparaiso, FL Indian Head NSWC, Indian Head, MD Dahlgren NSWC, Dahlgren, VA National Technical Systems (NTS), Camden, AR UTEC, Riverton, KS What does that mean for your program? It means APT has a proven understanding of the important aspects of testing, like how to obtain priority status for a program and how to ensure test preparations progress in a timely manner. EXAMPLE: In 2008, APT got a program’s priority ranking on a range to increase from #824 to #2. The series of tests occurred ahead of schedule. And, through our DOD work, we have tested at most national ranges in the US, including many at: Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake, China Lake, CA Dugway Proving Ground, Dugway, UT Yuma Proving Ground, Yuma, AZ White Sands Missile Range, White Sands, NM A-P-T Research, Inc. | 4950 Research Drive, Huntsville, AL 35805 | 256.327.3373 | www.apt-research.com ISO 9001:2008 Certified Partnered Test Sites Test Site Experience M-16-00101 | 13 Hazard Classification (HC) & Insensitive Munitions (IM) RESULTS The only reason to test is to obtain data.
