Communication and Outreach Associate

Major function:
Working strategies to engage targeted stakeholders from government, nongovernment and private sectors at outreach activities
Seeking targeted outreach opportunities, organizing events and working with
targeted stakeholders to leverage their networks to further our outreach
activities
Assisting with writing, editing, design and solicitation of content about project
activities for communications channels including printed publications in
newspaper, online media, E-newsletters, monthly reports, agriculture manuals
etc.
Compiling forest histories of the project intervention sites traced through
various documents and archival research
Perform other related duties as required
II. Working Relationships:

Internal: Interact frequently with Senior Program Associate and Project
Assistant Director/Regional Director and Project Associates
NGOs, government and researchers.
External: Communicate on a regular basis with the ATREE Bangalore.
III. Minimum Work Requirements
Knowledge:
Master’s degree. Experience with professional writing, editing on environmental
issues and event organization.
Experience:
• Experience with media, environmental or professional writing and editing
• Experience in event organization
• Familiarity with issues ranging from forest conservation, livelihood, climate
change in Eastern Himalaya
• Proficiency with social media, internet and Microsoft Office
Skills and Abilities:

• Deadline oriented
• Good command of written and spoken English and Nepali.
IV. Salary:
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and work experience as per ATREE
policies
V. Position Base: Darjeeling, West Bengal with field visits
