Grade 8 History Trimester Project: Scientific Revolution
Writing Project:
Step 1 Select a Scientist: Select a scientist from this period (1450-1650) to research
Step 2 Do the Research: Gather Information. Find 2 or 3 sources from the library or internet. Print out the source,
read it and highlight the important information. Below are some questions to help you organize the essay.
Famous scientists of the Scientific Revolution:
Background:
o Who is this person?
o Where did they live?
o When did they live?
What did this person achieve?
How and in what way did this person impact history?
Step 3 Write an introduction and conclusions to your essay
The introduction introduces the reader to the topic and outlines the main idea
The conclusion wraps up the all the main points and leaves the reader with a final thought
Step 4 Put it all together: to complete your essay be certain to include the following elements
Length 1 ½ written pages
Use Times New Roman 12 point font
Use a 2,5 cm margin for the format
Double spaced (no extra space between paragraphs)
Include a title page
Include a bibliography of the sources used
Use your own ideas and words
