Note:
The question paper is divided into three sections A, B and
C. Write answer as per the given instructions.
Section - A
8 × 2 = 16
(Very Short Answer Questions)
This section contains eight (8) very short answer type
questions (one word, one sentence and definition type
item) having weightage of sixteen (16) marks. Examinees
will have to attempt all questions. Each question will be of
two (2) marks and the maximum word limit is thirty words.

(Short Answer Questions)
This section will contain eight (8) short answer type
questions. Examinees will have to answer any four (4)
questions. Each question will be of eight (8) marks. The
weightage of this section will be of thirty two (32) marks.
Examinees have to delimit each answer in maximum 200
words.
2) Write a note on the main idea of the poem ‘The Rime of the
Ancient Mariner’.
3) Discuss wordsworth as a poet of nature.
4) What is ‘Romantic Revival’?
5) Comment on the medieval character of Coleridge’s poetry.

(Long Answer Questions)
This section contains four (4) long answer type questions.
Each question will be of sixteen (16) marks. Examinees
will have to answer any two (2) questions. The weightage
of this section will be of thirty two (32) marks. They have
to delimit each answer in maximum 500 words.
10) Discuss the various themes of ‘Pride and Prejudice’.
11) Discuss the character of Frankenstein.
12) Elucidate the prose style of essay writing of Charles Lamb.
12) Discuss the prose style of William Hazlitt.
