Katie Toksoy, French Horn
Katie Toksoy has been a devoted horn player since
the age of twelve. Her early training included lessons
with Scott Wilson of the Toronto Symphony and three
years as a musician with the Toronto Symphony Youth
Orchestra. Katie earned her degrees in Music Performance at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory
of Music in the studio of Michael Hatfield and Steven
Gross, and then in the studio of Roland Pandolfi at
Northwestern University in Chicago, USA.
Katie has performed as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestral section player in such
groups as the Chicago Civic Orchestra, the Banff Centre for the Arts Wind Octet, the National Youth Orchestra of Canada, the Antares Wind Quintet, the National Ballet of Canada,
the National Arts Centre Orchestra, the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony, and most recently
Gary Morgan's Panamericana Jazz Band, the Ontario Philharmonic and Kingston Symphony.
Katie is a member of the Trillium Brass Quintet, a freelance musician, private teacher and
Chairperson of Toronto's International Horn Day event. She is grateful for the support and
inspiration from her two daughters Seline and Erin and her partner Paul Weston.
