Headteacher’s Message
Recently, the senior team spoke to a number of
pupils across the school about reading habits and
their opinion about our new school library.
We found that the vast majority of pupils we spoke
to, really enjoyed visiting our school library and felt
it had motivated them to read more. Great news!
This week, we also sent out a letter to parents of
pupils in Years 4-6, about our new Garfield College
that is starting after half term every Wednesday
afternoon.
The letter and details will be on the website shortly,
if you want to find out more.
Wishing you all happy weekend.
Ms Karen Khwaja
A big thank you goes to Ms
Clement, our cook, and her
wonderful kitchen team. They
dressed up, cooked delicious
Chinese food and made our
Chinese New Year celebration

BETT SHOW
On Thursday 26th January, the children had a fantastic time attending the BETT show at the ExCel Centre in Greenwich.
10 children from Year 4 were selected to go and visit the show with Miss Pawson. Children met big computing
companies like Minecraft, Google, Brainpop. They also got hands on experience with new technology for education for
example Robotics, Lego, drum less drum kit, interactive flooring to play football and answer Math questions on! We
even got to see a 3D printer printing out an Octopus! The children, as always, were a credit to the School and their
parents/carers.

YEAR 3 RECORDERS AT DUNELM OPENING
It was a cold, wet and rather drizzly morning on Tuesday;
however the 38 children in year 3 who came to perform at
the opening of the new Dunelm store at Friern Bridge
retail park, were not in the least bit discouraged.
The store management were very impressed by both the
children’s behaviour and their beautiful playing!
I want to thank them all and their wonderfully supportive
parents who came along and helped make the morning a
great success!
