brainshuttle™ .workflow is a flexible and modular set of processes and tools that can be deployed to
develop tailor-made learning components. It covers all necessary phases in the development of learning
content and learning applications, from the planning to production, playout and distribution to learners.
These established processes, our tried and tested tools, as well as our experienced and motivated teams
allow us to quickly implement any learning component development projects for our customers and
decrease initial preparation times. All activities also support active participation of the customer in the
development processes.
brainshuttle ™ .workflow allows our customers to develop learning content for any discipline or learning
context – ranging from basic to vocational and academic education, or industry training. It focuses on the
development of learning content aimed for offline as well as online learning forms supporting different
learning approaches such as self-paced learning or instructor-led learning.

.workflow Components and Features
Consulting:
A thorough evaluation of the customer’s current situation, objectives and development goals resulting
in qualified advice. We provide continuous consulting for the strategic orientation of the learning
programme, e.g. regarding suitable learning scenarios (e-learning, blended learning, on-site learning)
and quality of the curricula.
Analysis:
Detailed requirements analysis, defining the learning specifications. The requirements management for
the e-learning content development contains the systematic identification, documentation, organisation,
adoption and tracing of requirements of the e-learning modules and their curricula, syllabi, learning
outcomes, learning material and assignments (if required). Specifications are developed in the cloudbased brainshuttle™ .producer.
Design:
Detailed analysis, specifying the instructional and visual orientation of the e-learning content or other
learning components. This comprises the analysis of the e-learning context, discipline, target group
and definition of the form the e-learning content shall take.
Development:
Content scripting and content quality assurance by domain experts, based on the defined specification.
The content is scripted using pre-configured building blocks for different types of transcripts (HTML
pages, videos, interactive elements, or quizzes). Incremental quality assurance focuses on spelling,
grammar, style, plagiarism, and material licenses. Scripting and quality assurance is conducted in the
cloud-based brainshuttle™ .producer.
Production:
Production and provision of all necessary media assets – video and audio content, graphics, animations,
interactive elements. Recording and post-production of audio-visual media is based on scripts provided
by brainshuttle™.producer and comprises the creation, revision and development of any type of media
assets to be used within the e-learning content – graphics, animations, interactive elements. The
production is conducted by the brainshuttle™ .studios teams.
Implementation:
Export in required formats (e.g. SCORM or IMS compliant) and integration in the provided (or
desired) learning management system. The final e-learning content export formats are provided by
the brainshuttle™ .producer and can be imported in the customer’s learning management system of
choice or in the brainshuttle™ .lms offered by us. The implementation phase also comprises intensive
automatic and manual integration testing.
Platform provisioning:
Provision of a customisable learning environment that can comprise two systems. The adaptable
learning management system brainshuttle™ .lms can host any SCORM or IMS compliant e-learning
content and provides its own player component – based on HTML5 / Javascript – for interactive
content. The brainshuttle™.eapel is a web-based component for the Electronic Accreditation of Prior
Experiential Learning that allows students to enter their formal and informal qualifications and generates
recommendations for the accreditation of academic achievements for these prior learning experiences.
