Safari Pictures: Hebron Christian College Mission Team - July 2013 TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK – Home of over 6000 elephants On the road – ruts and surprise = normality Elese lost her banana – literally! A small gazelle watches us with interest. The entrance to Tarangire National Park Waiting in the shade after lunch, ready to get going. … and a giraffe lopes by. The elephants stroll around with little to worry them. They flap their large ears to keep cool. This hiding leopard is almost invisible to the naked eye and to the camera (left natural / right zoom). Some interesting horses around here. And when these guys run they sure move! Say hi team Hannah, Sam and Jason enjoy the views… … but you never know what fright might be lurking outside the windows aye Mr Matthews? Miss Brooking is happy. Mrs Sellar is NOT always asleep, she also reads. While Joshua and Taboru enjoy the views from above. NGOROGORO Crater National Park After our surprise goat BBQ for dinner … Bethany and Elese have a much more sedate breakfast. Then it’s up over the crater rim. Our vehicles are solid and the drivers experienced. Wildebeest are prolific, their quantity had to capture on film. Sang-Jin, Jono and Amy watch the proceedings. We wondered what the hyena was looking at … and then we saw the awesome power of the lioness. When she put her head inside and shook the whole carcass moved. And she wasn’t sharing. Everyone wanted a close view of the lions. All the while the most lethal animal in Africa dozed. A nosey Zebra at close range. Ah … there’s dad … asleep … had his fill and sleeping! Here you go – the obligatory team shot at lunchtime down at the lake. It was only around 28 degrees so some felt a bit cool at lunchtime. A few it seems were doing their best Masai impersonations. Miss Brooking, Mr Matthews & Mrs Ross (aka Mama Jigi-Jigi), Arushi, Jahziel and Brooklyn enjoy the sun. Then it was away from this beautiful place back to Moshi. Looking at Mt Meru on the way home.
