Barber Lake Property
Property St Location
The Barber Lake property is located approximately 27 miles
east of Fort Frances and one and three quarters miles south
of Highway 11. The property is easily accessible by driving
along an all weather road from Highway No. 11. The road
was built for logging purposes. The property comprises
of claims K412981 to K412985 inclusive, K412732,K412733,
K412869, K412615.
Topography
The area within the boundaries of the claim group is typical
of the general low lying relief of the Keewatin shield.
Elevations above Bad Vermillion Lake are not more than 75
feet with glaciated ridges trending slightyly north of east.
Some swampy areas are present as a result of flooding by
beaver dams
Geology
The predominant rock formations are gabbro, anorthosite
gabbro, keewatin lavas, basalts andesites with granite to
the north and south.
Quartz veins and mineralized zones strike N 31 degrees east.
Trenches and pits are shown on attached sketches.
Work
Eight areas were stripped partially manually'iand partly
by bulldozer. A base line was cut for 3600 feet and a
cross picket line for 1200 feet. A road was bulldozed
through claims K418304, K412732, K412981 and K412615.
Drilling blasting and trenching was done in eight trenches
as shown on sketch.
Trench No. l stripped area is 120 feet long and 120 feet
wide with a rock trench 35 feet long 3 feet deep and 4 ft
wide.
Trench No. 2 is stripped area 30 feet long 15 feet wide
3 feet deep.
Trench No. 3 is a stripped area 54 feet long by 30 feet
wide by 4 feet deep with rock trench 36 feet long 5 feet
wide by 4 feet deep.
Trench No. 4 is stripped area 60 feet by 10 ft wide and
rock trench 48 foot long 3 fet wide and 3 ft deep.
Trench No. 5 stripped area 45 feet long 12 feet wide with
rock trench 20 feet long 3 feet wide and 2 feet deep.
Trench No. 6 is stripped area 10 feet long 10 feet wide
and rock trench 6 feet long 4 feet wide 4 feet deep.
Trench No. 7 is rock trench 10 feet long 8 feet wide 8 ft
deep.
Trench No. 8 stripped area is 20 feet long 6 feet wide and
rock trench is 14 feet long 2 feet deep and 2 feet wide.
