Girls from the North
Country
Each year, hundreds of people find hope
through organizations across the country
that train service dogs for people with disabilities. This documentary follows the
journey of recipients as they go through
the heartwarming and sometimes difficult
process of receiving and becoming acclimated to a service dog. The program offers
inspiring, hopeful stories that show how
with a little patience and a lot of love, an
“ordinary” dog can become extraordinary.
Roots folk-pop duo Dala, with special guests
Oh Susanna and the Good Lovelies, evokes
the musical beauty of the lush and rugged
North Country terrain with their infectious
harmonies and fresh sound.Weaving their
own songs around classics by Joni Mitchell,
Gordon Lightfoot, Neil Young and Bob
Dylan, Dala pays homage to the great folk
artists of our time.

Special Opera Presentation:
Great Performances at the Met
“Hamlet”
The works of Shakespeare have inspired more
operatic adaptations than any other writer’s.
Simon Keenlyside and Marlis Petersen bring
their extraordinary acting and singing skills to
two of the Bard’s most unforgettable characters in this new production of Ambroise
Thomas’ Hamlet. For the role of Ophelia, the
French composer created an extended mad
scene that is among the greatest in opera.
Louis Langree conducts the production by
Patrice Caurier and Moshe Leiser.

Boy Scouts of Harlem 759
2010 is the centennial year of the Boy
Scouts of America, and this film shows the
power of this transformative organization
with a charming and gentle exploration of
how the Boy Scouts – along with summer
scout camp – change a group of boys from
Harlem into young men.Through these
boys’ eyes, we see growth in a world that is
quite removed from their homes in Harlem.
But the real story is how one week can
change a boy’s outlook on life forever.

Five years after the devastation of Hurricanes
Katrina and Rita, Louisiana’s recovery is far
