Throughout Josh’s career, he has worked some of the most respected jobs including Broadway, national tours, national commercials, film and television. He has performed in major venues across the world including United States, Canada, Mexico and Europe. The Akadamie, a two year program of post-secondary ballet training, was anticipated to finish in 2015. However, after the first six months, Kira was offered a contract with the world renowned company, the Stuttgart Ballet. Repertoire she performed while here includes Giselle, Onegin, Sleeping Beauty, The Taming of the Shrew, and Leonce and Lena. She was apart of the creation process and danced in the world premieres of Soldat, by Demi’s Volpi, and Tea at the Palaz of Hoon, by Mark Godden. She has also worked with Choreographers Jorden Morris in Moulin Rouge the Movie with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, and danced as a soloist in Toru Shimazaki’s Absence of Story. She has taught for The Canadian School of Ballet, Sarafanov Ballet Studio, Robb Card Dance Studio, and is currently a member of the artistic faculty of the Professional Division at the RWB School. During her five years at the school, she was awarded multiple scholarships including the prestigious Prince Edward Award and represented the RWB School at Assemble Internationale in May of 2013. She finished her schooling at the RWB, graduating with distinction from the Professional Division, and was accepted into the Akadamie at John Cranko Schule in Stuttgart, Germany for the following year. Guest Teacher | JOSH ASSOR rwb.org/school Josh is currently working as the assistant choreographer for NorthCore Productions North American tour of Saturday Night Fever. Some of his previous credits include Disney’s first national tour of Newsies (asst. Dance Captain), Neleus in Mary Poppins on Broadway and the first national tour, Baby John in West Side Story at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival and dancing on ABC’s The Chew. He has worked regionally in productions such as The Little Mermaid, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Peter Pan, Beauty and the Beast and Aida the Opera. Josh has been featured in Dance Canada Quarterly, Industry Dance Magazine and Dance Plug (Los Angeles). In addition to performing, Josh also judges, teaches workshops and sets choreography for various studios, schools and colleges across the U.S. and Canada. He has taught at Edge Performing Arts Center as well as the Broadway Dance Center. Josh’s strong dedication to his craft, his passion for creativity along with his natural ability to connect with both fellow artists and students continues to shape his career. *Guest Teachers Subject to Change 2017 DI17 is a dynamic two-week training opportunity for dancers ages 9-18 hosted by the world renowned RWB School. We recommend 3-4 years minimum training for dancers aged 15+. Students will be placed according to their technical level in ballet.
