programming at the Spencer Theater. We are proud to help
educators, via “Class Acts” performances of dance, music and
drama, to present art that is both educational and entertaining.
“Class Acts” performances are designed for children of all ages
and presented at the Spencer Theater exclusively for the benefit
of school students and home school students. First launched in
1997 when the theater first raised its curtains, Class Acts has

south central New Mexico with the indispensable joys of arts
and entertainment. The program has enjoyed continuous
transportation support from the R.D. & Joan Dale Hubbard
Foundation, and funding support through New Mexico Arts and
the National Endowment for the Arts. We thank these entities and
all participating teachers and students for their support.

hat is barbershop as a musical style? Four guys on a street corner with handlebar mustaches and
skimmers? Men who love to sing and have fun? Four part harmonies sung a cappella? Well, the

barbershop is still a full-bodied, four-part, close-cropped a capella sound that first captured listeners
hearts decades upon decades ago.
Your students will hear the melody in the tenor, bass, and baritone parts through demonstrations of harmony and
song. Audience participation adds to the education and fun! Length: 1 hour • Grades: 1st - 8th
