Water, World heritage,
Welcoming
It comes as no surprise that tourism
is increasing in the Karlskrona
region. Our sunny climate and
beautiful archipelago combined
with great shopping, entertainment
and many places of interest attract
a steady increase in the number of
visitors. For many of our visitors,
our rich fauna, many hiking trails
and tranquil forests are the main
attraction. However, as a result of
our services and facilities, we are
also happy to welcome a growing
number of conference guests. An
added bonus is that the maritime
city of Karlskrona is a listed
UNESCO World Heritage Site.
We sometimes summarise our

Karlskrona began its journey in 1680, shaped by
the world’s leading naval officers,
architects, innovators and ship builders.
This ultimately left its mark on Karlskrona
as a city and created an ambience of
entrepreneurship. Our achievements
encompass everything from pioneering
shipbuilding to cutting edge communication solutions. Karlskrona is a prominent
naval city with all that entails such as
a maritime habitat and traditions. In
addition to the naval base and shipyard,
emanating from the very beginning of
Karlskrona’s history, a large variety
of businesses have realised the benefit
of combining their operations with quality
of life in a strategically placed location.
Welcome to Karlskrona or the City of
Technology, as we often prefer to call it.

With both your work and the
quayside on your doorstep
It is important to find a balance in life
between work and time off. In Karlskrona,
many residential areas are located close
to nature and public facilities. Not many
people have the privilege to live in a listed
World Heritage environment. For those with
an interest in sports we have the Telenor
Arena Karlskrona, a large sports and
events stadium. For those with an interest
in culture, we have the art centre, concert
hall theatre and numerous museums.

In Karlskrona, you always feel the presence
