The 90-metre MY Dubawi
The 90-metre MY Dubawi, one of the 100 biggest yachts in the world, was a
cruise vessel converted to epitomize the quintessential form of luxury at sea.
MY Dubawi, was a nondescript, probably extraneous
and insipid, passenger vessel that underwent
metamorphosis to epitomize the ethereal summation
of how grandeur should be at sea.
This mega yacht has six high-class accommodation
decks providing for ample interior and exterior space
for two owner suites, eight VIP suites and 12 guest
cabins; and allows for a great variety of use and
activities including dinning, outdoor areas with new
swim platform, Jacuzzis, barbeque area and much
more.
The layout utilizes a wide variety of fabrics, wood
finishing, marble, stones, mosaic and metal finishing
in the luxury accommodation, including all custom
design carpets and mosaic patterns.
Second deck houses the dining saloon that can host
up to 60 guests. On the third deck is the main entrance
with central staircase and passenger elevator serving all

held inaugural Abu Dhabi Boat Show.
A large majlis is on the fourth deck and a large open
space with retractable sun awning, bar, barbeque,
dinning and exterior seating arrangements is on the
fifth. The Jacuzzi, as well as the sunbed area, is on the
sixth deck
And Dubai based Platinum Yachts FZCO, the
company behind her metamorphosis, has been getting
all the fittingly extravagant and enthusiastic review
from boating pundits.
MY Dubawi has a fully centralized entertainment
system with local TV/DVD units in guest cabins and
saloons and top-quality stereo system throughout with
integrated local controls.
The vessel has a round bilge steel hull and steel/
aluminium superstructure. Its propulsion consists
of twin Controllable Pitch Propellers driven by
conventional shaft system connected to 2 Main Engines
(Man B&W, 3430hp each) via reduction gears.
Indeed, MY Dubawi enjoys much-deserved éclat
wherever it goes—it was a stole the show at the recently
Platinum Yachts started the conversion of the cruise
ship in June of 2007. The vessel, an ex-Renaissance
series built in Italy in 1989 had a large volume compared
to her length.
Conversion was completed in 18 months, with the
delivery made at the end
of 2008.
The conversion was very successful, noting that the
vessel offers what the owners require: large volume
considering her 90 metres of length and shallow draft
allowing access to all the major marinas, bays and
beaches to enjoy in a luxury life-style on the water.
