Staff Corner
Everyone of our staff dedicates their life to advocating
for children and giving your children the best possible
care we can provide them.
Programs & Staffing
Parents, we have 20 full time staff between the 3 programs
at this time. We all have child development education,
criminal and child welfare checks and first aid. We attend
monthly meetings and have daily communications between
the programs. If a staff is away for holiday or illness, we will
use another staff in their place to prevent having to close
spaces for the day. WE understand that consistency is very
important in our classrooms and we are trying our best.
Thank you for your understanding.

In the Spot Light
We would like to remind parents that
children must be in the center by 10 am.
After this time we adjust staff ratios for
breaks. This also allows us to be in
routine for all the children in the room.
Exceptions can be made for doctors
appointments. Please ensure that Lora
and Tinna are aware if you have to make
arrangements to come in after 10 am.
We have life threatening food allergies in
the program and ask that parents follow
our Meal time and Food substitution
policy. This is very important for the
safety of all the children at Crayon
Academy.
I ask that parents review our handbook
that can be found on our website. Thank
you for your cooperation in this matter.

getting them into the routine of the daycare.
Each day after lunch will be rest time. The length of naps depends on the individual child. Other naps are
on a as needed basis.
During the nap, infants will sleep on their backs until they can reposition themselves during sleep.
Blankets, Teddy Bears and other comfort items may be brought from home to be used at nap time to help
a child adjust to the centre.
Naps are not mandatory. Children who have outgrown naps will have quiet time, read books, do puzzles or
other appropriate activities.
