College and Career Thursday:
When students head off to college, they don’t go far. Nearly 55% of freshmen
attend school no more than 100 miles from home. More than 37% selected a
college that’s more than 50 miles away from their parents.
Today for Lunch you will have a choice of:

CLUB NEWS:
1. The Women Empowerment meeting will be after school in the Career Center today.
2. Link Crew will be meeting today during both lunches in E7. We will be discussing Spring
Events, so please be there!
FFA NEWS:
3. Want to be an FFA officer for the 2016-2017 school year? Applications are available
now! Stop by Ms. Ariaz’s room-T9 or Mr. Garrett’s room- T2 to pick one up.
Applications are due May 3rd.
LEADERSHIP NEWS:
4. Would you like to be involved in planning the activities that take place on our campus?
Applications are available from Mrs. Birakos in room H2. All applications are due
tomorrow.
5. Today is the last day to turn in Prom Contracts. Ticket prices are $45 with ASB and $50
without.
6. If you would like to take part in this year’s annual Dodgeball Tournament, packets are
available in Agora. Please see the cashier if you have any questions.
NEWS FROM AROUND CAMPUS:
7. Spartan Arts Invasion is tonight! Events will take place in the Theater Building and
Library from 5:00 to 7:30 PM. A schedule of events is available at the library.
8. Lathrop’s Video Game Design Academy is now taking applications for the 16/17 school
year. If you want an application or need to turn one in, see Mr. Myers or your
counselor immediately.

COUNSELING CENTER
10. There is a College Bound Club meeting during both lunches today in the Career Center.
11. The Counseling Department is holiding a Spring College Fair in the Library during both
lunches today. Please stop by and get information from a variety of college/career
schools to help plan your future.
12. Juniors, check your student email today! Tutorme.com is offering free access to their
Online ACT Preparation Course.
DAILY REMINDERS:
13. Attention Students! Please be reminded that you can only park in the East Parking Lot.
Make sure to get your parking passes from the office.
14. If you fail to clear absences within 5 days, you will end up with a Saturday School. If
you are unsure you have an uncleared absence, check the list posted on the front office
window. Remember that uncleared absences cannot be cleared beyond the 5 days.
15. The blue bins outside of the classrooms are only for recyclable materials including
bottles, glasses, cans, paper and cardboard. Trash such as food and their containers are
NOT permitted. Please keep the campus clean!
16. Please food and drinks are NOT allowed in the library and remember to use your inside
voice to maintain a quiet environment for studying, reading, or other quiet activities or
you may be asked to leave. Thank you for keeping our library a clean & quiet place.”
