Leah is a ‘fundraiser’s fundraiser’ with a wide and varied background in
charitable fund development. At Good Works, Leah has worked with
name-brand clients such as the Canadian Red Cross, the Canadian Breast
Cancer Foundation, the Kidney Foundation and the UN Refugee Agency
Canada. Leah’s work with these clients focuses on direct marketing,
donor research, social media and legacy marketing.
Prior to joining Good Works, Leah was Director of Development with the Canadian Parks and
Wilderness Society, Corporate Development Director at the Aga Khan Foundation and
Development Director of the Canada-U.S Fulbright Program.
Leah’s fundraising expertise includes direct mail, social media, telefundraising, door-to-door, emarketing, major gifts, planned giving, special events, corporate sponsorship and foundation
grants. She has raised tens of millions of dollars by using these tactics intelligently and
appropriately.
Leah’s professional and community involvement includes being Past-President of the Ottawa
Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Chair-Elect of the AFP Foundation for
Philanthropy-Canada, and a member of AHP, NTEN, the CMA and CAGP. Leah holds a BA
(Honours) from Trent University, and has a Master’s degree in International Relations from the
University of Cambridge in the UK.
