Judging will begin promptly at 4:00 pm RULES, REGULATIONS AND INFORMATION The Homemade Ice Cream Contest is back this year, and we want to thank Fun, Rides & Events, for sponsoring this event again after many years. This year we are looking for the best over all ice cream. Get creative and come up with an original "Any Flavor" ice cream recipe. Any Flavor may be submitted. No additional toppings! No raw eggs or uncooked egg products. You may enter the contest as a team or by yourself. Teams will consist of two people. Each team that enters is required to make ice cream. The 2011 1st place winner cannot compete in 2012. RECIPE MUST CONTAIN MILK PRODUCTS! Electric or hand-crank freezers may be used (at least 4 quart capacity). Contestants must furnish electrical cords, freezer, bucket to hold freezer, serving spoons, etc. Attach entry tag to ice cream freezer. All contestants must furnish all ingredients and utensils needed to make and serve ice cream (except ice which will be furnished by the Fair). Ice cream mixture must be kept chilled at all times and must be made prior to bringing to Fair for contest. See general rules on page 182. Complete recipe must be typed on an 8 1/2" x 11" sheet of white paper for all special food contests. **No notebook paper allowed. Type or write name, address and telephone number on reverse side of recipe in the upper right corner or use address label and write phone number. Do not write exhibitor's name on the front of the recipe. All recipes become property of the Dixie Classic Fair and Fun, Rides & Picnics. Contestants must arrive at Fairgrounds by 2:30 p.m., Sunday, October 7, (or may arrive as early as 1:30 p.m.) and be set up and ready to begin making ice cream at 3:00 p.m. or as soon as all contestants have checked in. Contestant(s) will be given use of a table, 6' x 3', before making ice cream. Judging will begin at approximately 4:00 p.m. Contestants will be given one hour to finish.
