Task 1: Guessing (5 minutes) TEACHER NOTE: The idea is that students are going to guess since they do not know anything at all about Staling. Encourage groups to discuss the answer. In this task you are going to work in your selected groups. The idea is that you have to discuss the following questions.Note: There is no wrong answer and you will need to use your answers in task 3. After that start the kahoot quiz together with the documentary. Since we have not discussed anything about Joseph Stalin, you have probably just guessed an answer at task one. We want you to know who Joseph Stalin is. Therefore, we have selected a documentary which describes who Stalin was and what he did. For this assignment we will work with a program called Kahoot. Activity 1: Take out your smartphones and download the App Kahoot (if you have not done so). Activity 2: Click here to see the website. Give each group the pictures and let them match each word to a picture. Afterwards ask them to create a sentence with that word. Walk around the class to make sure that the sentences are correct, give feedback when necessary. You have just watched a documentary about Joseph Stalin. Some new vocabulary that you have not encountered yet has been used within this video. In your selected groups, your task is to match these new words with the right picture. What was completely new to you and what do you consider remarkable? Were you shocked when you heard about what he had done? What was his role in the Second World War? Last but not least. The documentary is named "The most evil man in History". Do you think this is a suitable name? Explain your answers using at least 100 words and include at least 5 of the new words that were mentioned today.
