Walnut, Walnut, Walnut!!!
New walnut log deck
We have procured a
large volume of 60+
year old black walnut
butt logs from a 50
acre walnut orchard
that was recently
removed on the west
side of Templeton.
These trees had lived
their useful and
productive lives and
now that land will be used for wine grapes. Some of these walnut logs are 3648" in diameter and up to 8+ feet long. The grain in these logs appears to be
quite spectacular.
We have one full sized burl that is just over 4' in diameter. Burls yield very
unique shapes and ring patterns and are highly prized for their exquisite beauty.
Come by the shop and have a look at this amazing black walnut inventory. We
will be happy to custom mill it for your dream project.
Slash Pile to be Chipped in Early
October
Pacific Coast Lumber
will periodically chip
our slash pile and sell
these playground
quality chips to our
customers for
landscaping uses.
The slash pile is
comprised mostly of
unusable cuts of logs
PCL's current slash pile
that are not part of an
deliverable order. Essentially these are the scrap portions of our milling
process. This is the typically known by many of you as the "free" pile that
anyone can take from to use for firewood or miscellaneous projects with scrap
wood.
We are anticipating about 600 yards or so of high quality landscape chips. Stay
tuned for next month's newsletter for more details on the final quantity of chips
and pricing.
11' Eucalyptus Table and Benches
We recently were commissioned to build this beautiful 11' long table from
Eucalyptus planks. Eucalyptus is typically a twisty and unstable wood, but for
this project we joined the planks with a steel rod to keep the surface from
warping. What a stunning rustic table!
We are happy to design and build any table and benches from our inventory of

Planing Wood up to 20' x 5'
We have the capacity to plane any wood surface that is up to 20 feet long and 5
feet wide. This is a unique capability we have with our Lucas mill which allows
us to save time and provide the best quality product on a large scale material,
such as this 18' x 4' oak slab. We plane our own material and we provide
planing services for any wood you bring to us. For more details, call anytime
