Kristi Kooima, Director [email protected] December 2011/January 2012 In This Issue Director’s Note Since the last newsletter, we’ve had several great trips. Our tour of the Rocky Mountains and Estes Park in September was wonderful. We were blessed with perfect fall weather, beautiful scenery, and a fun group. From a picnic in the mountains, to a fancy dinner at the Stanley Hotel, to watching elk outside our lodge, the trip was filled with adventure. In October, we toured the Oak Lane Hutterite Colony in South Dakota, which was very educational. Our guide, Mr. Wipf, showed us around the entire colony, from the dairy to the school, and answered many questions; then, of course, we all enjoyed the delicious homemade lunch. Also in October, we had a two-day trip to Omaha, with another fun group. We enjoyed wonderful music and food, as well as several interesting and educational tours. There are many events planned for 2012. Several Heritage Club members are going on the Panama Canal Cruise in January. There are still seats available for the Homestead Pickers Music Show in March and the Church Basement Ladies in April. In May, there is a trip planned to the Tulip Time Festival in Pella. The tour to Mackinac Island and Door County in June is filling up quickly, so if you are interested, sign up soon. There are itineraries available for this tour, as well as the Alaska Adventure in August and the Smoky Mountains in October. And there will be a few Mystery Trips coming up in 2012 as well. All Peoples Bank locations will be hosting a Christmas Open House in December. Please stop by to visit and enjoy Christmas treats. (See below for times and locations.) Open House Times.......1 New!
