Rutherford International Student Scholarship The Rutherford International Student Scholarship is available to full-time international undergraduate students. Applicants must be in good academic standing and demonstrate financial need Bruce J. Rutherford and LeAne H. Rutherford established the Rutherford International Student Scholarship in 2007. Bruce Rutherford retired from his position as International Student Adviser after more than three decades of service to UMD. LeAne Rutherford is currently an Associate Professor in Instructional Development at UMD. One award of $1,600 will be granted in two $800 disbursements. The first disbursement in the fall and the second in the spring semester of the 2016-2017 school year. Selection criteria are: • Applicants must be full-time undergraduate students attending classes at the Duluth campus (any major) • Applicants must demonstrate some financial need • Applicants must be in good academic standing Applications should include: • Completed application form • A personal statement including current sources of funding • Current unofficial UMD transcript Only complete scholarship applications will be considered. Recipients of the scholarship are asked to do some volunteer service to the campus and/or Duluth community.
