PO Box 6004 Rutland, VT 05702 802-747-7900 www.vermontwoodlands.org Silviculture Program for Consulting Foresters The Old Gray Barn, 1582 VT RT 30, Rupert, Vermont May 20, 2015 from 7:45am to 3:30pm During 2012 and 2013 David Paganelli, Orange County Forester, and Louis Bushey, Stewardship Forester, had the privilege to attend a 9-week USFS Advanced Silviculture Training Program. The training took place in Michigan, Oregon, Arizona, Tennessee, and Kentucky and covered a broad range of national silvicultural topics. During 2013 and 2014 David and Louis made three presentations to FP&R Foresters on the highlights of the training. Some of the material is “new thinking,” some is a refresher. For those interested in the practice of Silviculture, we think it will be an interesting and informative day with good forestry discussion. The presentations, so far, have been well received and this program is similar but tailored specifically to Vermont consulting foresters. The agenda is tentative and may be adjusted based on participant interest. Silviculture for Consulting Foresters has been assigned 6 Category 1 CFE credits. 7:45-8:00 8:00-9:30 9:30-9:45 9:45-11:30 11:30 -12:00 12:30-3:15 3:15-3:30 Meet at Alan Calfee’s barn in Rupert.
