Group Members: ______________________________________________________________________ Case File: Rainsford vs General Zaroff Most Dangerous Game: Alternate Ending Project For this project, your group is going to pretend that Rainsford did not kill General Zaroff. Instead, Rainsford escaped the island, and he is creating a case against Zaroff to hopefully have him put in prison for the murderous acts that he has committed. Directions: Each member of your group will choose one of the following options to work on. (If you have 3 members, then your group should complete 3 options; if you have 4 members, then your group should complete 4 options.) Each member within your group MUST pick a different option. Remember you are trying to build a case against Zaroff; you are trying to prove that he is guilty. 1) Create a mulit-color map of Ship Trap Island. This map should include all details in order to assist police in the investigation. Be sure to include the following 9 items: General Zaroff’s “palatial Burmese Tiger trap chateu” (surrounded on 3 sides Sapling Trap (where Ivan dies) by a high cliff) Zaroff’s training facility Location of the false channel Compass rose (indicates and rocky shore direction) Death Swamp (south East part Depict the landscape as was of the island) described in the story The Malay Mancatcher 2) Rainsford’s journal- You are writing journal entries from Rainsford’s point of view about the happenings on the island while he was there. You are required to have 4, one page entries. 3) Eyewitness Accounts- You will conduct short interviews ( 1 min each) with 3 eye witnesses. The eye witnesses should all be minor characters: Whitney, Ivan, or one of the many other prisioners held captive in the island training facility. Interviews can be on video or written as a script. 4) Forensic Evidence- First, you will create a crime scene. Second, you will provide photos of the “evidence” collected at the scene. Third, you will provide a 1 ½ page forensics report. 5) Police sketch- You will draw a police sketch of General Zaroff and Ivan based on the information provided in the short story. At the bottom of each sketch, you will provide a brief physical description (height, weight, eye color, etc) along with a brief (5-7 sentence) psychological analysis that states why the character is dangerous. All information created should be appropriate. If not, points will be deducted, and, depending of the severity, could result in a referral. Be creative and have a good time with the project!
