Adding of un and dis
What is a prefix? As the word suggests, when we fix a word before (pre)
another word. A prefix changes the meaning of the word. When we add
'un' and 'dis' the meaning of the word changes to the opposite.
For example
happy
un+happy = unhappy
appear
dis + appear = disappear
Did you know we could use 'mis' as a prefix too?
Here is an example:
treat
-
mis + treat = mistreat
We have to know which prefix to use for each word.
unhonest dishonest
distidy
untidy
misappear disappear
