The Deepest Swimming Pool
Have you ever felt that public pools in Taiwan are overcrowded in the summer and the lanes are too
narrow for all the people swimming in them? This is not a problem in Brussels, Belgium, home of Nemo
33.
__1__ 33 meters deep, Nemo 33 is the deepest swimming pool in the world. Designed by John
Beernaerts, a diving enthusiast, Nemo 33 was created to __2__ deep sea divers. The 2.5 million liter pool
has several underwater caves and tunnels for swimmers to explore. Moreover, there is a 33-meter-deep

Tokay Geckos
Another animal is suffering huge population loss due to its use in traditional medicines. Throughout
East Asia, in places such as Taiwan, China, and Hong Kong, tokay geckos are added as a(n) __1__ in

about their medicinal properties, millions of tokay gecks are being killed annually for these medicines.
Taiwan alone has imported more than 15 million tokays since around 2009.
These geckos are native to India, Nepal, Indonesia, the Philippines, and elsewhere. Poachers tend to
