Deborah Circle A guided tour of Wingspread, 33 East Four Mile Rd., Racine, has been booked for Deborah Circle members and others who might like to attend on Friday, November 21 at 10:30 a.m. Join us as we tour this unique property designed and built by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1938 -39 as a private residence for the Herbert Fisk Johnson family. The Johnson family lived there for 20 years, then in 1959 it was given to the Johnson Foundation to be used as an educational and conference center, which continues to be its current use. Although there are no elevators inside, the building and first floor rooms are accessible by ramps. The second floor does require climbing a few steps, or there is comfortable seating located nearby if you choose not to use the stairs. Plan to meet at Wingspread at 10:25 a.m. We will follow the tour with lunch somewhere on the north side of town (location to be decided). Please notify Ginny Holle by Tuesday, November 18 if you plan on coming. Holiday Food Basket Availability Normally the Deacons receive names of families through Racine’s Community Action Agency, but perhaps you or someone you know—an individual or family—could benefit from this program. If that is the case, please contact Pastor Ben or Pastor Gillian to let them know of this need, and they will confidentially inform the Deacons. Thanks to all for making this year’s Christmas basket program a success! Join us for the next meeting of the Milwaukee Presbytery, this coming Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Immanuel Presbyterian Church in Milwaukee. Enjoy keynote speaker Rev. J. Herbert Nelson, lunch, and worship in addition to the stated business meeting. Deacons Gear Up for Christmas This Sunday, Deacons will once again be "manning the jars" where you can drop your loose change - change that helps fill the Christmas Boxes with fresh food items. Please look for these jars before and after the service. Also, if you took a slip for non-perishable food items, please bring those items in so we can plan for feeding a wonderful holiday meal to more than 130 people. We plan to hold another reverse offering on Sunday, November 23rd and a final round up of non-perishable food items on Sunday, December 7. Thank you all for your support of this project! Also included are the memories of the church’s most longstanding members, a remembrance of our most beloved leaders, the remarkable transformation of music within and outside of church services, and most importantly, an encouraging look toward First Presbyterian’s next 175 years.
