Cyber bullying is any form of bullying which happens online or through your mobile phone. Go through this
sheet and practice the steps so if you ever get an upsetting message, you remember what to do.
1. Keep Information Private
The first and most important rule is to keep your information private. Never share your private information
online like your full name, address, phone number school name, parent’s name, credit card number etc.
Don’t ever tell anyone your password. And be careful about any photos you share.
If you receive a message that upsets you:
2. Tell your Mum or Dad
Even if you feel embarrassed or bad about the message, tell a parent, or adult you trust as soon as you can.
Leave the message on the computer and go and fetch them. It is much better to get adult support if you’re
bullied.
3. Save the Evidence
If you can’t get an adult, take a screen shot and save it to keep a record of any bullying texts or e-mails or
messages. With windows you press the print screen or [PrtScn] button. On a Mac you hold down command
and shift and press the number 3 at the same time. On an iPad or iPhone you press the button on the top right hand
side and the big round button underneath the screen at the same time.


Open up a new word document (Or Paint programme)
To paste the document press Control [Ctrl] and V
Then save the document:
Go to the ‘File’ on the top left of their screen
Choose ‘Save’ from the drop down menu
Click on the ‘Save’ button on the bottom right of the window
If you have a mobile check the instructions on how to take a screenshot. And write it in the box below:
Practice saving screenshots on all your devices because you may find it hard to think clearly if you’re upset
4. Don’t Respond to the Message
Don’t respond to a bullying message. The bully shouldn’t have the satisfaction of knowing they’ve upset
you. Just keep the evidence in case you need it. If the message threatened you, tell a parent as soon as
you can, because you may want their help if you decide you want to tell the school or police.
5. Log Out
Once the evidence is saved, log out of the site where the message appeared. Think of the best way to calm
yourself down at this point, because you might feel a bit upset or unsettled.
6. Stop the Bully
There is no reason for you to ever put up with cyberbullying.
 You can report every incident to the school or police until the bullying stops
 You can block, delete or report anyone who’s harassing you online or on your mobile
 You can change your settings, contact details, email address, screen name, mobile number, passwords
 And you can find other platforms to communicate with your friends, until the bullying stops.
