Dear Birthmother, I want to thank you for taking the time to read my profile, learn about me and the life I can offer a child, and for considering granting me the great opportunity to become your child’s adoptive mother. I can only imagine the range of emotions you are experiencing at this time and want you to know that I truly respect and admire you for making this difficult and selfless decision. I’m a divorced woman who has decided to become a single mother. I hope to remarry someday, but have decided to build my family now through adoption and share the love, encouragement, and support I can offer. I have lots of support from my family and close friends, and am excited to embark on the journey into motherhood. I’ve lived in New England for most of my life. My home is a townhouse style, two bedroom condominium that I own and there are many young children in my neighborhood. I work in the technology industry as a marketing manager for a midsized, global software company and enjoy my job. I’m fortunate to work for a family friendly company that offers a flexible work environment and plan to take three months off post-placement. Upon my return to work, my mother will provide childcare for two or three days per week, with the remaining days covered by either a daycare center or an in-home nanny. I’m able to work from home as needed, so having to unexpectedly be home with the baby won’t be a problem. My town offers a good school system and my home is within three miles of the elementary, middle, and high schools. There are two parks nearby, as well as the town common (which hosts a farmer’s market in the summer months), grocery stores, a large shopping mall, and my gym (which offers babysitting services). The city is a 40 minute drive or train ride away and I love going there to explore museums, attend sporting events and concerts, to shop, and to try new restaurants. I also enjoy spending time at the beach which is about an hour away. I’m mostly a warm weather person, but sometimes during the winter I’ll go skiing or snow tubing. I live near several outdoor recreation areas. This park is 5 minutes away and includes a play ground and 1.5 mile path where I enjoy walking. It’s always filled with runners, dog walkers, and kids on bikes. My immediate family is small and includes a younger sister and our mother, both of whom live nearby. We are close, supportive of one another, and speak daily. They are excited about becoming a Grandma and Aunt and will be an integral part of your child’s life. In addition to my mom and sister, I’m fortunate to have a group of close friends, both women and men, who are an important part of my life. They are excited about my decision to adopt and will be part of my support network. My mom Karen, grandmother Toby, and sister Melissa. My cousin Beth, me, my sister, and my cousin Joel . Me, my dad Vic, Beth, Beth’s husband Mike, and my sister. My cousin Joel and his family – his wife Heather and kids Jamie, Allison, and Katie. My cousin Beth and her family – Mike, Jake, and Emily. With my mom, sister, dad, and grandmother. Rags, my mother’s dog. Spring is my favorite season. I love the longer hours of daylight, seeing the trees come back to life, the scent of the flowers I planted in my two gardens, and hearing the birds chirping outside my windows. The only things I could do without are pollen and my allergies! This two-day blizzard left over two feet of snow on the ground! In this case I needed snow shoes to get out through the garage (you can see my footprints). Annual New Year’s Day celebration. Cheering the marathon runners. This has become an annual tradition and is a lot of fun. A summer night out. Florida get together with college friends. Rent a kayak and paddle around a lake or down a river. Dine out with friends. I really enjoy trying new restaurants and different types of food. Go for a bike ride. I met this deer in the FL keys.
