BISHOP Desmond Tutu,
the outspoken critic of the
South Africa's apartheid
policy, is scheduled to be
among the main speakers
at the 15th World
Methodist Conference to
be held in Nairobi in July
this year.
This was revealed in the schedule of the conference programme presented to the local host
committee meeting at the
Methodist guest house this week
by the secretary general of the
World Methodist Council Dr Joe
Hale.
In a Press statement signed by
the publicity secretary of the
Bishop Tutu
church in Kenya Mr S. Kiome,
the host committee chaired by
the presiding Bishop of the
Methodist Church in Kenya
Bishop Lawi Imathiu, and
attended by among others the
treasurer of W. M. C. Mr John
Harpar, the conference coordinator Dr DeWayne Wooding and the Geneva secretary,
Mr Ralph Young, it was also
disclosed that the Permanent
Secretary in the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs Mr Bethuel Kiplagat, will be among the
speakers.
