The granite has been sheared and sericitlzed. Some of the shears are silicified and others contain quartz stringers. 145 - 148.5 Schist Chlorite schist, fine-grained and fissile. Probably an in clusion in the granite. 148.5 - 190.5 Granite Medium to fine-grained, light coloured granite. Very similar, except for texture,- to granite described under 77 - 145. t 190.5 - 194 Schist Fine-grained chlorite schist* Probably an inclusion. 194 - 204 Dike? Fine-grained, fairly massive basic rock* Probably a dike ycunger than the granite, 204 - 236,5 Granite Ifodium-grained, light coloured granite. Highly sericitized* 236.5 - 267 Schist Very fissile chlorite schist con taining quartz and carbonate stringers. 267 Granite Medium to coarse-grained, light coloured sericitic granite. - 281 COPY M. The last four feet are very coarse-grained. 373.5 - 404 Schist Fine to medium-grained hornblende, chlorite schist. The edges of the intersection are very fine grained, grading to medium-grained in the center. This is undoubtedly an inclusion within the granite mass. 404 - 490 Granite Coarse-grained, light coloured granite (a normal phase) contain ing narrow (up to twelve inch) inclusions of hornblende and chlorite schist at 425, 449 and 451 feet. 490 - 502 Schist Fine-grained hornblende, chlorite schist out by narrow granite dikes. 502 - 504 Dike Aplite or fine-grained granite dike* 504 - 578 Meta-diorite Medium to coarse-grained hornblende meta-diorite. Probably a metamor phic phase of the included ancient basement complex. 578 - 581 Schist Fine-grained chlorite schist out by many small quarts stringers. 58i - 627 Granite Coarse-grained, light coloured granite. Normal variety. 627 - 630 Schist Fine-grained chlorite schist out toy many small quartz stringers. 630 - 674 Mota-diorite Medium to coarse-grained hornblende meta-diorite with many chloritic blebs and patches.
