MY FAVOURITE SUPERSTAR
Dear Cecilia,
Today I want to tell you about my favourite
superstar. My favourite superstar is a young
man. His name is Ricky Martin. He’s a famous
pop singer. He was born in Puerto Rico, on
24th December 1971.
He always wanted to be a singer and a dancer.
In fact, he began to sing and dance when he
was only eight years old. His family, especially
his parents, always supported and encouraged
him.
His carreer started in 1984, when he joined a
Latin American boy group called Menudo. His
great success was Livin’ La vida Loca but I like
all his songs. Livin’ La vida Loca became a
smash hit all over the world. That was in 1998.
I was really young at that time.
This singer is my favourite superstar because
he’s a really good singer and dancer. I must
admit that he is a brilliant performer, and he’s
very good-looking, too. I saw him on TV last
week and in a live concert in 2010 in Milano. At
the concert he sang all my favourite songs.

BACK FROM HOLIDAYS
NEXT SUMMER HOLIDAYS
Dear David,
School is over! I am very happy about it. I
can relax now. I can sleep in the morning as
long as I want to. I can go out with my friends
in the afternoon and I can play computer
games in the evening. Of course I must study
for my summer exams but I will start to do it
after at least three days of complete rest.
You know what? I am going to go on holiday
in July. I am going to go to the mountains
with my father and my uncle. We are going to
stay in a nice hotel for ten days and we are
going to go by car. When I am there, I can
walk, swim, play football and climb
mountains! I hope I can visit my relatives
there… my cousin Matteo is very friendly and
nice, he is 15. I’m going to come back at the
end of July. Where are you going to go this
summer?
I will send you a postcard and I will try to
write you an e-mail, too.

FUTURE PLANS
Dear Andrea,
I’ve just come back from summer holidays. I
went to Scotland. I went with my family. We
visited our relatives and then we travelled
around Scotland. We went by ferry boat and by
car. I left on 15th July and I came back on 13th
August. We stayed in a bed and breakfast
accomodation and we spent almost four weeks
there.
We visited the Highlands, the countryside and
a lot of castles! Unfortunately we had a terribile
weather, it always rained, like in Ireland!
Anyway I must admit that my holidays were
nice, even if I missed my friends very much.
I sent you a postcard, did you receive it? How
about you and your holidays? Where did you
go? Please write me soon and tell me
everything about your holidays because I am
very curious, as you know!

Dear David,
I have good news: I am going to visit my
cousins in Rome next month. I am going to
spend my Easter holidays there. I hope the
weather is going to be fine.
Next year I am going to go to a different school,
I have already chosen. I am going to Galilei
High School. This school specialises in science
subjects. I am going to study Maths and
Computer Science because I would like to
become a computer engineer like my father.
You know, I am also going to study two foreign
languages: English and French. I hope French
is not going to be too difficult. When I leave
high school I hope to go to university. I feel
happy because next year I am going to meet
new friends and new teachers too! I hope they
will be nice.
