What do you picture in your mind when
you here the word “cross”? Do you think
of jewelry? Do you think of a symbol of
our Christian faith? Are you grateful?
will bring clarity to what our minds go to
as we here and think of the Cross. The
cross that Jesus died on for all of us, you
and me individually and together. Our
Savior sacrificed and bore the weight of
the sin of the world.
Let us remember.

Feasts of the Old Testament
God's redemptive plan is unveiled through the feasts of Israel. The feasts are still
relevant for our lives today.
Scripture says that the Lord established these feasts for all people for all time.
Throughout the Old Testament, God commanded the people of Israel to observe
feasts and holy days (holidays) to remember the mighty things that He had done in
the lives of Israel's ancestors.
3 Facts Christian Should Know about the Hebrew roots of Christianity
From childhood, Jesus celebrated these feasts and holy days.
Jesus said he was the fulfillment of the Old Testament
Jesus mentioned many parallels between the feasts and sacrifices and himself.
Discover how The Feasts & Holidays of the Bible can enrich your worship of Jesus.
Feasts of the Old Testament will be taught in the Cafe by Pastor Ron Lotz.
Studies in James, Live Your Faith
We know that, although Jesus’ half brother James was not a believer during the
public ministry of Christ (John 7:5), he saw Christ after His resurrection according to
Paul (I Corinthians 15:7). We do not know when he accepted the truth that Jesus was
the Messiah, but James was listed among those who waited for the outpouring of the
Holy Spirit in the upper room (Acts 1:14). He became the leading figure of the church
in Jerusalem and moderated the deliberations at the first church council, which was
convened over the issue of the requirements for salvation of Gentile converts (Acts
15). The evident note of authority expressed in the epistle goes well with the position
James held in Jerusalem. He was generally regarded as a pillar of the church and the
chief representative of the believers in Jerusalem. James, however, was content to
refer to himself as “a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ”. He dismissed all
claim to any special authority and made himself one with those whom he addressed.
James willingly placed himself as a slave of the Lord Jesus Christ, the property of his
Master, with very few personal liberties.
This class will be taught by Jim Stafford, room 1, SW corner, lower level.
Daylight Savings Time Begins
Remember to set your clocks ahead one hour
the evening of March 12!
Sharing the Good News of the Gospel around the world
can go way beyond pre-imagined ideas for the International
Workers. Many, many times the physical, emotional and/or
mental needs of their target groups have to first be met
in
before any meaningful conversations or relationships can
occur. (James 2:15-17 addresses this). Ground work has to
be done concerning trust, authenticity, intentionality,
reliability, and expectations, to name a few, on the part of
the International Workers. Culture, religion, traditions, governments, and language can all be barriers as well when
living and working in different areas of the world.
Besides the skills they may take of being doctors, nurses, teachers, businessmen, accountants, technicians, pastors,
community developers, small business entrepreneurs, etc., sometimes resourcefulness and imagination are a Worker’s
best tools! Workers have said that some of the best times of sharing the Gospel have happened in coffee shops, at the
markets, around kitchen tables, in cooking classes, in language classes, in courtyards, in hospital rooms,in prison wards,
on the streets, in Bible studies, around sewing machines, when giving rides, with lonely and abused women, at schools,
at dance lessons, around brothels and bars, while building wells/waterways/latrines, through local radio broadcasts, or
advocating for them with local gov’t officials. The list and opportunities are endless, but it’s really not a lot different
from “here to there” as to the unique ways to become involved in others’ lives as the Lord commands us to do. “Love
thy neighbor and love your enemies and pray for them and do good to them.”
Share the gospel “in season and out of season and when it’s convenient and when it’s not.” If International
Workers can do it, then so should we!
Missions Emphasis
March
You are engaged in a battle. Ideas come at you from every direction, and few know how to make sense of the world. Few
know how to think Christianly. Few know what they believe; and fewer still, why they believe it. Equip yourself. Learn to
equip others. Summit’s Student Worldview Conferences are intensive two-week retreats designed to teach students (ages 1622) how to analyze the various ideas that are currently competing for their hearts and minds.
Over 20 Christian thought leaders, such as Sean McDowell, Warren Smith, Brett Kunkle, Abdu Murray, and more will
mentor students in apologetics, public policy, and business during the intensive 12-day conference designed to teach students
how to analyze the various ideas that are currently competing for their hearts and minds.
What happens when over 6,000 students
and adult sponsors spend five days in one
location studying God’s Word, having fun,
attending concerts, and serving the city
through community projects? Lives are
totally transformed for the glory of God!
