Flood Risks in this Area
The map on the back o f this leaflet shows the rivers and streams in
your area. It also shows where floods have happened in the past,
w here they could happen in the future and where there are flood
defences which reduce the risk o f flooding.
I f you live close to a river or stream you should know how flood
w arnings w ill be issued in your area.
Flood W arnings
The Environment Agency operates a colour coded flood warning
system for river flooding. The colour tells you how serious the
threat is:
Y e llo w W a r n in g
A w arning o f flooding to some low lying farm land and roads near
rivers or the sea. Parks and gardens m ay also be affected.
Local R adio
Flood warnings will be broadcast on local radio. If you
are concerned that weather conditions may cause
flooding listen to :
