when they need us most. Thank you!
Our patient family accommodation
provides a vital source of support
to families whose children have
complex ongoing needs or, who
face a long recovery journey
following treatment.
Callum has had several operations
on his heart at Great Ormond Street
Hospital. His parents were able to stay
in patient family accommodation
at Weston House during his stay.
His mum says, ‘It makes life so

Q&As
Q. What are we raising money for?
Q. W
hen should we hold our quiz?
A. By
holding a quiz night you are
helping to raise vital fund towards
patient family accommodation at
Great Ormond Street Hospital.
A. We’re aiming to get as many people
as possible across the UK taking
part in a quiz this spring so that we
can raise the vital funds we need to
support our patient family
accommodation. If you can’t, don’t
worry! The most important thing
is that you hold your Quiz Night
to help us to support our families
when they need it most.
W
eston House, our Patient Hotel
provides family accommodation for
both short-term patients who have
travelled from outside of London, as
well as longer-term accommodation
for families whose children have
complex medical needs or who have
a substantial recovery period ahead
of them. The patient hotel means
that families can stay together in
a non-clinical environment in close
proximity to the hospital in case
of emergencies.
It costs £619 a day to fund parent
accommodation at Weston House,
and we rely on the generosity of the
public to continue to provide this
vital service. By holding your own
Quiz Night you can help us provide
much needed to support and keep
families with very sick children.
Q. H
ow do I tell people about
our event?
Getting the word out is the best way
to make your night a huge success.
We’ve included a promotional
poster in this pack which is a great
place to start. You can print as many
as you need and insert the details
of your event. Social media is also
a great way to spread the word so
make sure you promote your event
on your Facebook page and
on Twitter.
Your quiz night guide
Q&As
Q. How much can we raise
at our event?
Q. I want to make up my own
questions – is that ok?
A. We’d love you to raise as much as
possible at your event to help us to
fund patient family accommodation.
It’s surprising how quickly the
money can add up, for example
if you have 10-teams of 5 people
with each individual donating
£3 to take part you’ll raise £150!
There are lots of ways to boost your
fundraising too. Take a look at our
top tips on page 3 to help raise
more dosh for GOSH.
A. Of course! We hope that the
questions we’ve provided are a good
starting point but if you do want to
do your own, please feel free. Why
not tailor your quiz to appeal to your
audience? If you’re a sporting bunch,
why not have a sports quiz. If you’re
more of a music fan a music quiz
can be great fun too. If you need a
little help the internet is full of quiz
questions – just make sure they
come with the answers included!
Q. How do I send my money in?
If you’ve got any questions or need
any support please don’t hesitate
to get in touch.
020 7239 3131
[email protected]
A. Simply
complete the monies return
form included in this pack and post
it back to us with a cheque.
We’ll then be able to send you
a thank you letter to let your
customers know that we’re putting
your donations to good use.
Thanks so much for your
support and best of luck
with your fundraising!
