Principal’s News
Dear Parents,
We are now starting our
2nd nine weeks and by now I hope
that you had an opportunity to
meet with your child’s teacher and
go over where they stand in their
new grade level. Our teachers
have done an amazing job getting
our year off to a good start.
The construction project
next door has brought additional
traffic concerns. In talking to the
company they have informed us
that they are should finish with this
phase of construction by February.
However, a new construction
phase will begin after that which
will be another building closer to
Raba Dr. At this time the construction workers are parking their
vehicles at the church next door
and are trying to avoid as much as
possible parking on Raba Dr.
There are days where that is inevitable and deliveries are unforeseen, especially during drop-off or
dismissal. I ask for your patience
so that we can keep Raba Dr. and
our driveway as safe as possible.
Just as reminders:
1.) Parents using our drive way to
pick up students should stay to the
right of the drive way Raba Dr. and
not leave cars unattended. The
line will move after 2:50pm when
students are dismissed.
2.) Parents parking to pick up
students should fill up the front
parking lot and when that is
full, begin parking up Raba Dr.
towards Westover Hills and
also on Village Parkway.
3.) We now have our busses
arrive to Raba at 2:15 to minimize their added traffic.
4.) The double lane will be
open for parking in our front
parking lot at around 2:50pm
when students begin to dismiss.
5) The side parking lot is designated as staff parking only.
Once our staff parking lot fills
that lot we will overflow into
the front parking lot. This
opens more parking spaces for
parents in the front parking lot
and minimizes the traffic in
search for a parking spot.
Parents, it is imperative that we all follow all posted signage. Please do not
drop off students in the parking lot in front of the school.
Also, parents in the pick-up
line, please make sure to pull
up past the front of the school
and as far forward as possible
so we can load or unload the
largest number of students and
make the line flow better.
I want to thank all the
parents who have attended our
Chick-fil-A nights. They have
been a huge success and
Chick-fil-A has donated
$568.64 for our 2nd grade
night and $352.14 for our 3rd
grade night. We hope to see
you this Thursday for our 1st
grade night. All proceeds will
go into our fund to send students on field trips.
On yet another great
note, our Fall Festival was a
huge success. Thank you to all
the volunteers that helped out
in any way. We could not have
done it without the help of all
involved. I sure had a blast
and the water tank wasn’t too
bad. Kudos to our PTA for
organizing this successful
event that brought in $7,790.
The funds will also go to funding field trips for our little Rattlers. So thank you to all the
PTA Board and PTA volunteers.
at home. We have also set a goal to
increase student achievement in
grades PK-5 by at least 10%. This
includes all subject areas. Please
talk to your teachers to see what you
can do to help us reach our goals.
Our third goal is to decrease discipline referrals to the office by 10%.
Decreasing discipline referrals is
correlated to an increase in student
achievement. Students in the classroom will learn, while students out of
the classroom will miss out on essential teaching. Please help us reach
our goals and make Raba the destination school in Northside.
Let’s Keep Moving Forward!
Yours in education,
Mr. Victor M. Raga
Principal
The Holidays are fast
approaching and while we do
look forward to those day we
also try our best to stay focused in our learning. One of
our campus goals is to increase reading levels of all
students PK-5 by 10%. Reading is important at school and

Pre-K News
Pre-K was excited to learn the difference between BIG and little this week. We learned
that another word for big can be GIANT or
HUGE. It was easy to compare the difference
between little and huge when our Warren Heroes Basketball players visited our classroom
