MEARIN-Drainage Channel 100 and 160
Installation instructions
Here’s how to do it:
1
Stretch a line. For MEARIN “100”, prepare a trench, 30 cm
wide and 25 cm deep. For MEARIN “160”, 36 cm wide and
32 cm deep. Fill with a concrete mixture (B 25) and
spread.
2
With MEARIN In line trap
For MEARIN “100” drainage channel, cut out the
preformed knockout using a knife, attach the DN 100
outlet, respectively DN 125 for the MEARIN “160”; using
the 4 screws provided and connect to soakage pit or sewer
using a standard water pipe connector and bend. Starting
at the outlet end, place the first channel on the prepared
concrete bed and straighten. Lower the following channels
into the interlocking joint.
2a
With MEARIN silt box (not pictured)
Ascertain the level for the silt box and saw off the
corresponding discharge point. Connect to soakage pit or
sewer using a standard water pipe (bend). Place channel
on the prepared concrete bed and straighten. Lower the
following channels into the interlocking joint.
3
Insert the MEA channel gratings so that they overlap the
channel joints. This helps straighten the channel and avoid
bends at channel joints. Fit one channel end cap to both
the channel start and end, or silt box. Surround channels
with concrete and make firm.

If a further surface (paviers, asphalt or similar) is to be
added, allow for this in the height of concrete. For heavy
loads it is standard practice to completely bed the channels
in concrete (10 cm concrete border surrounding channel)
and then to commence laying the final surface. Depending
on the material, a freshly laid surface will settle. The top
of the completed surface should thus lie approx. 5mm
above the upper surface of the grating.
