We are bringing back our popular Branson trip in 2017 with Little Rock as our Gateway City to introduce many of
you for the first time to the beautiful State of Arkansas. All the wonderful attractions we have included in this tour
serves as a bonus for the usual Branson-only tour that most tour companies offer – Unicorn Tours does it better!!
Day 1 – Tuesday, October 10
Our flights are through Boston Logan (Southwest flights and times TBA – bag goes
FREE with Southwest) and we’ll arrive in Little Rock, Arkansas by early-afternoon.
Our first stop will be to tour the William Jefferson Clinton Presidential Library that
features a recreation of the Oval Office during the Clinton Presidency.
Next we’ll visit the Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site Visitor Center
for a film outlining the historic events that took place here during the turbulent early
days of desegregation in our country.
The desegregation of Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas, gained national
attention on September 3, 1957, when Governor Orval Faubus mobilized the Arkansas
National Guard in an effort to prevent nine African American students from integrating
the high school. President Dwight D. Eisenhower took action against the defiant governor
by simultaneously federalizing the Arkansas National Guard, and ordering one thousand
troops from the US Army to oversee the integration. On September 25, 1957 the students,
now known as the Little Rock Nine, entered Central High School, an academically
renowned all white school. Despite suffering constant torment and discrimination from
their classmates, eight of the nine students completed the school year at Central High
School.
Our Welcome Dinner tonight will be held in an elegant Spanish-style mansion hosted by the
proprietor himself who will take us on a tour of his spectacular home. Welcome Dinner –
Overnight Holiday Inn, Little Rock, Arkansas
Day 2 – Wednesday, October 11
After a hearty buffet breakfast, we’ll depart for Branson with a stop at Turpentine Creek. This
refuge is a retirement home for big cats and other large animals abandoned by owners who
bought them as “kittens” but were soon overwhelmed by their “adult” size. These animals are
not wanted by zoos so are given to this “rescue zoo” as an alternative to euthanizing them. Their
mission is to take-in unwanted creatures so they can live out their lives in a caring environment.
The collection of these beautiful large wild animals is amazing and makes for a very interesting
and informative tour.

audience up on their feet with the lively patriotic tunes of the 1940’s that kept spirits high at
home and on the front lines during WW II.
We’ll take a break between shows for a Pizza Lunch on the grounds of Branson’s newest
attraction – the 1933 Chicago World’s Fair Ferris Wheel brought here and re-assembled to
thrill Branson tourists. A ride to the top offers a fabulous panoramic view of the beautiful hills

voted “Branson’s Best Show of the Year” and you’ll feel the same after spending an evening with
this amazing extended family of talent from oldest (father and mother Dean and Sheila) to the
youngest grandchild. The seven siblings are expert musicians with several Julliard trained.

peppered in. Sheila introduces us to her brood throughout the show so by show’s end you feel like
a member of the family! B, D
Day 6 – Sunday, October 15
This morning we head back to Little Rock but not before spending a few hours in another
Missouri town made famous for the natural hot springs for which the town was named. Hot
Springs still has many of the beautiful Victorian bath houses that were built in the late 1880’s to
pamper the wealthy visitors who flocked to the town to enjoy soaking in the rejuvenating waters.
During your free time, you may want to tour one of these architectural gems for a glimpse into life
during the Victorian Age.
A little known fact is that Hot Springs was the spring training ground for our very own Red Sox
team during the years Babe Ruth was a player. In addition, the town was the winter hangout for
the most notorious mobsters that terrorized the nation and each other during the 1920’s. You
may want to visit the Gangster Museum to learn about this unusual history where Al Capone,
Machine Gun Kelly, Bonnie & Clyde etc. all took a vacation from killing each other while in Hot
Springs where they dined, gambled and socialized together before going back to their usual
rivalries.
We’ll arrive at our Little Rock hotel in time to freshen up before a fun evening at a popular local dinner theatre.
