Abbreviations and Purse Value Index for North American Tracks
The following table may be used as an adjunct to Daily Racing Form’s past performance feature highlighting the value of allowance purse races. The number following the name of each track represents the average net purse value per race rounded to
the nearest thousand, during the track’s 2012 season. Thus a comparison can be made of the value of an allowance purse in
a horse’s current past performance with the average value of all allowance races at that track the preceding season. The purse
value index in the track abbreviation table is updated each year to reflect the values of the previous season. If no purse value
index is shown for a facility, the track did not operate a race meeting last year.
