Poster Printing Guidelines
(Updated in July 2016)
Printing SURF Posters:
1. SURF faculty advisors should email Barb Wirth ([email protected]) the names of the SURF students
who will have their posters printed for the Research Day. The SURF Program pays for the printing costs
($35.00 each), so it is important to inform Ms. Wirth.
2. The size of the poster depends on the board it will be hung onto. SURF posters will be displayed on
56”W x 36”H boards, therefore the PowerPoint slide may not exceed 56” x 36”.
3. We require 3-day notice for the printing. The deadline for files to be submitted to Media and
Instructional Support is the Monday of that week.
4. Poster files must be brought to the Media and Instructional Support desk (located in the Library) on a
flash drive. They will be copied immediately so that the flash drive can be returned. MIS will not accept
files from the user’s network drive, or through email.
5. No posters will be reprinted, so poster authors must proofread their work carefully prior to printing.
6. Posters must be picked up promptly after printing. They may not be left with MIS until the
presentation day.
Printing Other (non-SURF) Posters:
In most cases, these posters will be displayed on tri-fold stands. Course instructors who require the
presentation be printed on ONE large photo paper (48”W x 36”H) must email James Murray
[email protected] or Lily Zhang [email protected] on: 1) the number of posters to be printed, 2)
the names of the students designated to submit the posters for printing, and 3) payment methods
(covered by the department or the student)
1) The cost is $28.00 per poster.
2) The size of the poster depends on the board it will be hung onto. The tri-fold board is 48”W x 36”H,
therefore the PowerPoint slide may not exceed 48” x 36”.
3) We require 3-day notice for the printing. The deadline for files to be submitted to Media and
Instructional Support is the Monday of that week.
4) Poster files must be brought to the Media and Instructional Support desk (in the Library) on a flash
drive. They will be copied immediately so that the flash drive can be returned. MIS will not accept
files from the user’s network drive, or through email.
5) No posters will be reprinted, so poster authors must proofread their work carefully prior to printing.
6) Posters must be picked up promptly after printing. They may not be left with MIS until Research Day.
Students who are given the option of printing out individual PowerPoint pages for poster presentation
may use the printer in the Library. It prints black-and-white and color copies.
