Student Summary Report with their report card
this month. This report will allow you to see
your child’s progress in both reading and
math. Below are some helpful hints on how to
understand the report:
Reading:
•There is a graph for the Overall Reading Score and for each
subtest that makes up that overall reading score.
• Each dot on the graph represents an assessment. The
expectation is that the trend of dots moves up and to the
right.
• At a minimum, there should be a dot for each month. There
may be more if subtests are administered weekly for
progress monitoring of interventions.
• The percentile rank represents the percentage of students
nationwide who scored lower than the student.
•The Tier level is based upon the percentile rank.
Math:
• There is a graph for the Overall score.
• Each dot on the graph represents an assessment. There
should be a dot for each month. The expectation is that the
trend of dots moves up and to the right

The “PAC” Update
(Parent Advisory Committee)
Our next meeting will be on January 17th at
3:15pm in the Parkview Library. Please come join
us! We always welcome parents to participate in
their children’s learning and school environment.
Character Counts @ Parkview
Parkview students have been working hard at modeling great
character. Students have started earning “Paw-sitive Behavior”
recognition by making great choices around the school. Check out our
new bulletin board highlighting the success of these students. In
addition, we will be working on hallway behavior this month. We want
to be moving through our building in a respectful and responsible way!
Do you shop at
Albertsons?
Any time you check out at Albertsons, PLEASE
mention to the cashier that you would like to
support Parkview. IT COSTS
NOTHING, and we get a donation
from the store. We would
appreciate your support!!

Principal’s Corner
Welcome back! 2017 is going
to be a great year! The next
few months will be busy as your
students begin the second half
of their learning year. We will
be busy working on second
semester skills both
instructionally and socially. Parkview
students will be focusing on character
choices and recognition of others that
make good character choices. We have
wonderful students in our building who will
one day be leaders in our community!
Please encourage and support them in
making good character choices. I truly
believe that we are in a partnership
together!
Continue Collecting
your Box Tops!!
Thank you to everyone that is continuing to collect Box
Tops! Please be sure that you clip…clip…clip! Ask your
friends and neighbors to clip and save for us as well!
It would help us out tremendously if you could cut the
Box Tops before sending them to us.
Example: DO cut them neatly, on the dotted lines!
DON’T tear them! We have to go back and re-cut
each one that is torn. !
I hope everyone had a wonderful and
relaxing break!
Volunteer Training
Your Partner in Education,
Shelly Flygare
8 and you
are LATE!
All students must be in
their classrooms by 8 am
each morning in order to
ensure everyone is given a healthy
breakfast and that we can start our
learning day! Please help us with this
issue. You may drop off your child as
early at 7:30 am each morning on 13th
street. The first bell rings at 7:45 am
and the tardy bell rings at 8:00 am.
If you would like to be a volunteer at Parkview, we would LOVE
to have you! You will need to go through a volunteer training at
Central Office on one of the following dates in order to be
allowed to volunteer at our school. If you have any questions,
please stop by our office for more information, or you can go to
