It is almost that time of year… SUMMER BREAK!!! It’s been a GREAT year!
Thank you students for all your hard work and thank you parents for all of your support.
Here are the END OF THE YEAR Briscoe MS Band Events for Beginning Band. ☺
Upcoming Performances / Events:
Orange Leaf Nights We have 2 Orange Leaf Nights! Thursday, May 4th & Thursday, June
1st from 5pm-10pm. The band receives 20% of proceeds.

Students are dismissed after their performance.
• Dress: Band Polos, Black slacks/shoes/socks
Solo Contest Wed, May 24th - This involves all Band students and 99% of the
performances will take place during their band class. A “schedule of events and times” will be
posted beforehand.

Dress: “Sunday Best” on the day of their performance.
Music: The students have a packet of Solos. They are to choose one solo to perform for
a rating in front of a judge.
Tuesday, May 30th 5 – 7pm – “Band Booster Bash” at Gold’s Gym – Rogers Ranch
END OF YEAR CHECKLIST:
School Owned Instruments A School Owned Instrument Cleaning Fee ($60) will be sent
out with your child and is due on Fri, May 12th. Please RETURN all school owned instruments
on Wed, May 24th. They will be reissued to returning Briscoe Band students when they return
from the shop. Please make checks payable to Briscoe Band Boosters.
School Owned Locks All school owned locks will be collected on Thur, May 25th.
A charge of $10.00 will be assessed for lost locks.
SUMMER BAND CAMPS:
College Summer Band Camps Several local and not-so-local Colleges (UTSA, Texas State
TLU,etc) will be hosting summer band camps on their campuses.
Students, please practice your instrument over summer break.
For returning band students, our
“Briscoe Summer Band Camp” will be
on August 14th – 18th from 9am - noon
Special Concert performance & Pizza Party on
Friday, August 18th at 11:30am
