A: Prayer is an offering up of our desires unto God for things agreeable to his will, in the name of Christ, with confession of our sins, and thankful acknowledgment of his mercies. Q99: What rule hath God given for our direction in prayer? A: The whole Word of God is of use to direct us in prayer; but the special rule of direction is that form of prayer which Christ taught his disciples, commonly called The Lord's Prayer. Our church extends a cordial welcome to all who worship with us this morning. Visitors are asked to please sign the visitor’s card in the pew and provide us the requested information so that we might welcome you. We are delighted to have you with us this Lord’s Day! *The Doxology Trinity Hymnal p. 731 Praise God from whom all blessings flow; praise him, all creatures here below; praise him above, ye heav’nly host: praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. And as the boat began to sail away to the other side, the Master laid His head down to sleep. The sky began to darken. The rain began to fall. The waters tossed the boat from side to side. Struggling to find assurance, they woke Him in distress, crying “Save us, Lord, or we will surely die.” He said, “Peace, be still,” winds and waves were calm by His voice. He said, “Peace be still,” and a miracle began by the pow’r if His command. Peace, be still. When trouble reigned upon me, sorrow gathered like a fog, and it seemed my Savior’s face was hid from mine, my heavy heart was full of doubt, shaken by the storm, then I felt His words bring comfort deep inside. He said, “Peace, be still,” troubled heart was calmed by His voice. He said, “Peace, be still,” and a miracle began by the power of His command. Peace, be still. And a miracle began by the pow’r of His command. Peace, be still.
