Volume 4, Issue 2 April 25, 2006 “Ella” Best in Futurity By Todd Miller O xford Tobell Fire and Ice “Ella” chosen 2006 Best In Futurity under breeder/judge Barbara Wayne (Charlemagne). Sire is Ch. Sunbeams Rembrandt of Endeavor and Dam is Ch. Oxford Tobell’s On Tour. Breeders: Dianne Bowen and Kim Tucker and owners Charlotte Lee and Breeders. This is the second Best in Futurity win for Ms. Bowen, winning BIF under Calvin Perry with Ch. Oxford Festiva Love Affair in 1998. Dianne has been been breeding whippets since the 1970’s and was the breeder of well-known whippet Ch. Chelsea Drakkar of Oxford. She started breeding St. Bernard dogs in the 1960’s and produced a multiple group winning/multiple specialty winning St. Bernanrd. One of her fondest memories in whippets was Drake’s WD/BOS at the National Specialty in 1989, shown by co-breeder Deann Christianson. The litter that produced the BIF was conceived with the purpose of keeping sound movement, proper whippet shape and outstanding whippet temperaments. She hopes that all breeders will continue to remember first and foremost to keep proper breed type in their lines. Futurity Results Futurity, Dogs 6-8 Mos. (1)Festiva's It Wasn't Me.
