Twelve-year-old Artemis Fowl is a brilliant criminal mastermind. But
even Artemis doesn't know what he's taken on when he kidnaps a

Fowl has been a labour of love for lifelong graphic novel fan Eoin

scheming, they have no idea what adventures await them. Separated,
the cousins find themselves lost in a mysterious valley, populated by
the cute (a family of possums and a leaf-shaped bug named Ted) as
well as the scary (carnivorous, sharp-toothed rat-creatures desperate
to eat them). Isolated from everything he knows, Fone Bone must find
his cousins again, as well as stop an evil rat creature’s plans and save
the entire valley in his spare time. Lucky for him, he's got the
beautiful Thorn on his side. Oh, and a huge, fire-breathing dragon!

Coraline, The Graphic Novel by Neil Gaiman.
Coraline has just moved into a new flat in what was once a large
mansion house. While exploring the new house, Coraline discovers a
door that won't budge. Her curiosity aroused, she asks her mother to
unlock it, only to find a solid brick wall behind the locked door. That
night Coraline hears a sound that wakes her from a deep sleep.
Following the noise she is led to the same door, but instead of a brick
wall she finds a gloomy corridor. Although a little frightened, her
curiosity is aroused and before she has time to think, Coraline ventures
down the corridor to discover a duplicate world. It's the same flat, but
some of the details are just slightly different, and most surprisingly of
all, she finds a duplicate mother and father who look the same but are a
lot more sinister.
